Getting to & from Guelph is very easy for commuters who work outside of the City.
 
Downtown Guelph is a lively neighbourhood with a laid back feel & has become known for its “hipster” atmosphere, fueled by the creative student population & young adults living in the area. It may not be a huge city, but it still has an impressive arts & culture scene & numerous parks & trails to enjoy.

Adjacent to the Speed River, Royal City Park is a great place to sit & read, have a picnic, hike a trail, rent a canoe or kayak or enjoy tea or an ice cream cone at the famous Boathouse Tea Room & Ice Cream Parlour.

Known at the Jewel in the Royal City’s crown! The downtown core is a hub of art, music, new ideas & a fantastic foodie scene with endless trendy restaurants, cafes, breweries & specialty shops to explore. In the mix you’ll also find various galleries, old heritage churches & civic buildings.

The downtown core is also home to numerous events & festivals throughout the year.

Guelphs signature performing arts centre overlooking the Speed River. It is host to concerts, musicals, plays, dance, family shows, weddings & much more throughout the year.

The Bookshelf Guelph has been central to the Guelph community for over forty years. Located in the downtown core, it is a bookstore-cinema-bistro-bar offering regular events. Grab lunch or a coffee at the cafe next door, maybe a juice from the juicery down the way, but be sure to make this a stop on your journey as you explore all that the downtown has to offer.

Forecasted to be fully completed in 2026 with the construction of the new central Guelph Public Library, the Baker District is a community-accessible integrated civic hub with an outdoor urban square & features residential units, commercial & institutional space & public parking.
